The difference is vertical surfaces. Deep adds baseboards and the tops of baseboard heating, window blinds, ceiling fan blades, cobwebs, and in the bathroom the light fixtures and cabinet fronts. That is why deep takes longer and costs more.

When to book it

Four times a deep clean earns its price.

01

The first visit

If nobody has done the baseboards in a year, start deep. After that a standard visit holds it.

02

After work on the house

Drywall dust and contractor boot traffic get into everything, down to the baseboards and blinds.

03

Before people arrive

In-laws for the week, a party, or the photographer for a listing. The details are what they notice.

04

The seasonal reset

Once in spring after the salt and slush, once before the holidays. Twice a year is the common rhythm.

What it costs

Priced for the house.

Three things move the number. Bedrooms and bathrooms, how the house is doing right now, and any add-ons you want. Tell us about the house and we come back with a number.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

The biggest driver. Bathrooms count more than bedrooms because they take longer.

Where the house is at

A home that has not had a deep clean in two years takes longer than one that had one in spring.

Questions

Deep cleaning questions.

Do I need to do anything before you arrive?

Clear what you can off counters and floors so the time goes on cleaning rather than moving things. Anything left out gets worked around.

How long does a deep clean take?

Is the inside of the oven and fridge included?

Can I book deep cleans on a schedule?

Most people do one deep clean, then standard every two weeks, then a deep reset once or twice a year. Some prefer deep every visit. Both are fine, and both are quoted the same way.

What if I only want certain rooms done?

Say so when you book. You are priced by what gets cleaned, not by a flat package, so a kitchen and two bathrooms is a real option.
